"Navigator"
The Navigators are meant to be bright and adventureous.
Completed primarily in 1998 and 1999, many are larger paintings
and all but a few are oil & wax on canvas.
I often spend entirely too much time gazing out over the ocean horizon
and wondering about lands far away and in another time.
For me, the horizon is synonymous with a sense of wonder.
My imagination is pulled to that line drawn in the sky, chasing the setting sun
and wondering what's happening "out there" beyond what's known.
In a way, they're adventure stories from childhood.
